Kaylene Alvarez

Director, American International Group (AIG)

Ms. Alvarez is the Director of Global Business Development and Integration for the Consumer Finance Group of American International Group (AIG), which develops retail banking and consumer finance opportunities in emerging markets. Ms. Alvarez formerly worked as a consultant to the World Bank with regard to private sector development in Eastern Europe and Central Asia. She joined NYCfNAC's Board in May 2007.

Peter L. Bray
Executive Director and Board Secretary, NYCfNAC

Mr. Bray has worked professionally in the community development field since 1977 and devoted much of his effort to the revitalization of the South Bronx.  He first became involved with credit unions in 1993, and in 1999, organized and launched NYCfNAC with support from the Open Society Institute.

Linda Levy

Chief Executive Officer, Lower East Side People's Federal Credit Union & PCEI

Ms. Levy is the Chief Executive Officer of Lower East Side People's Federal Credit Union and People's Center for Economic Independence (PCEI), their new nonprofit affiliate that provides financial education and free tax preparation services to members. Ms. Levy has been actively involved in credit union development for over 20 years in her former capacity as a consultant to the National Federation of Community Development Credit Unions. Ms. Levy has been a member of NYCfNAC's Board since January 2006.

 

Mark A. Malaspina
Chief Program Officer, Computers for Youth
Assistant Board Secretary, NYCfNAC

Mr. Malaspina is the Chief Program Officer of Computers for Youth, a national non-profit that works to improve the Home Learning Environment of low-income families. Formerly, Mr. Malaspina was the President and co-founder of the Grow Network, which became a division of the McGraw-Hill Company, and a Staff Attorney with Lawyers Alliance for New York, where he co-counseled with Shearman & Sterling on NYCfNAC's incorporation and tax exemption matters and provided legal counsel to many economic development organizations. Mr. Malaspina is the chairperson of NYCfNAC's Audit Committee and has been a Board member since NYCfNAC's incorporation in May 2000.

 

Thomas A. Morin

Vice President, Goldman, Sachs & Co.

Board Treasurer, NYCfNAC

Mr. Morin is a Vice President in the Finance Division of Goldman, Sachs & Co., a global investment banking, securities and investment management firm that provides a wide range of services worldwide to a substantial and diversified client base that includes corporations, financial institutions, governments and high-net-worth individuals. Mr. Morin was formerly a senior auditor at Ernst & Young in their Banking and Capital Markets group. He Joined NYCfNAC's Board in August 2007.


Rachel Schneider

Consultant

Ms. Schneider is the Chair of NYCfNAC's Investment Committee. She consults with financial institutions, nonprofits, and foundations on strategic planning and the development of financial products with a social purpose. Ms. Schneider was previously the Associate Director of the Aspen Institute's Initiative on Financial Security, where she was responsible for leading the design of new federally subsidized products that would facilitate savings and investment by more Americans. Prior to joining the Aspen Institute, Ms. Schneider was a Vice President in Global Investment Banking at Merrill Lynch & Co. and advised public and private companies on strategic and capital structure issues. She has been a board member since May 2005.

Audia Williams

CEO/Manager, Union Settlement Federal Credit Union

Ms. Williams became the Manager of Union Settlement Federal Credit Union in East Harlem in May 2006, at which time she joined NYCfNAC's Board. She previously served as the Chief Financial Officer of Sun East Federal Credit Union, with members in Pennsylvania, Delaware, and New Jersey.

Justine Zinkin
Executive Director,
Neighborhood Trust

Vice-Chairperson, NYCfNAC

Ms. Zinkin has presided over Neighborhood Trust as well as its nonprofit sponsor, Credit Where Credit Is Due, since 2002. Ms. Zinkin has over ten years of experience in New York City community development and holds an MBA from Columbia University.
